What have you been doing for the past 60 years?: Louis and I have experienced a wonderful and happy life together, enjoying visiting with our son, daughter, two granddaughters and a grandson. These past fifty years have given my family and me so much to be thankful for: love and affection of our family and the blessings of life to be able to now live near our son and daughter’s family. Yes, life as Louis says is good and we are so happy to have met while attending class together at Lee High. |

What have you been doing for the past 60 years?: Almost immediately after boot camp from the Marines, Ann Deese, my high school sweetheart, and I married in 1963 . . . we will celebrate our 50th anniversary in July 2013. I began my law enforcement career in 1965, with the Atlantic Coast Line – later to become the CSX Police Department, graduated from the University of South Carolina with a BA in Criminal Justice, and retired in 2003 as Superintendent of Police, serving my last two years on the Command Staff of the FBI’s Anti-Terrorism Task Force in Washington, DC. In 2003, we moved to North Carolina to be near our children and almost immediately I was appointed to be the Police Chief of a town near Pinehurst, NC. In 2009, I retired for the last time, but continue to serve on the ABC Board and teach at a local community college. Now, Ann and I have time to enjoy our children and grandchildren . . . we are blessed in so many ways, life is good! |
